Job Ready Pathways Project

The Victorian Trades Hall Council Job Ready Pathways Project is a short pilot program designed to build the job readiness of participants and empower them in pursuing employment.

As part of the Victorian Government’s Learn and Earn program, the project is aimed at traditionally under-represented workers from diverse and marginalised backgrounds with working rights in Australia. So far we’ve worked with more than 100 participants.

The project offers a 20-hour job readiness program, covering topics such as:

  • Your rights and responsibilities at work.
  • Resumes, cover letters and job interviews.
  • Working as an apprentice, and the role of unions.
  • Safe and respectful workplaces.
  • Making informed decisions.
  • Further study options.

The project can also support eligible participants through pre-apprenticeships, traineeships, apprenticeships, tickets/licences, or a Certificate III or IV in the government’s Skills First priority areas as pathways to employment.

We also work with employers to identify the support they need in hiring workers, and connect them with training and resources that will help.
