BBA-related pre-apprenticeships

Taking a pre-apprenticeship course sets you up with basic on-the-job skills and essential learning related to your industry. This can make you a great candidate for Big Build Apprenticeship (BBA) roles in the future. You’ll get to experience what it’s like to work on a job before committing to a full apprenticeship or traineeship. And if you’re eligible, you might even be able to study for free.

Current BBA-related pre-apprenticeship courses include:

  • Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-Apprenticeship
  • Certificate II in Civil Construction
  • Certificate II in Construction Pathways
  • Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career start)
  • Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-Vocational)
  • Certificate II in Engineering Studies
  • Certificate II in Horticulture
  • Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-Apprenticeship)

The Victorian Government’s Free TAFE initiative for priority courses covers tuition fees for students who are eligible for government-subsidised training. Check here to see if this applies to you.

You can also search the Victorian Skills Gateway to find BBA-related pre-apprenticeship courses near you.
