Big Build Apprenticeships

Be part of something big.

Victoria’s Big Build is a Victorian Government policy that will deliver a significant number of major infrastructure, road and rail projects across the State. Victoria’s Big Build is generating thousands of local jobs for Victorians, in sectors ranging from construction and engineering to human resources and administration.

More than 18,000 people are currently working directly on projects, and for every 100 direct jobs on the projects, on average another 206 jobs are supported across the economy. As part of the Victorian Government’s Local Jobs First policy, at least 10% of labour hours are allocated to trainees and apprentices.

A Big Build training pathway will get you involved in some of Victoria’s biggest projects, such as the North East Link and the New Footscray Hospital.

With the Victorian Government investing $70 billion in major infrastructure and smart technology projects, there are many new and exciting career opportunities. They include:

  • Electrical contractor
  • Project manager
  • Building site manager
  • Construction manager
  • Building inspector

These opportunities are available to all kinds of people, from wide and diverse backgrounds. You may be surprised at how well suited you are.
