Supporting people to do an apprenticeship or traineeship
Apprenticeships Victoria supports a system that helps people at different stages of their apprenticeship or traineeship journey, by providing information and assistance to:
- people starting work
- secondary school students doing a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship
- people who want to retrain or change careers
- apprentices and trainees who need individual support, referrals and advice to continue and complete their training
- people who are underrepresented in the workforce, including women in non-traditional trades, First Peoples, people with disabilities and culturally diverse communities.
- retrenched apprentices and trainees looking to get back on track with training
Apprenticeships Victoria also supports apprentices and trainees through practical services, including the Apprentice Helpdesk, Apprenticeship Support Officers and Apprentice Employee Assistance Program.
Partnering with industry to build Victoria’s workforce
We work with partners to support local and priority industries to respond to current and future workforce needs. This includes sectors such as:
- construction
- advanced manufacturing
- clean energy
- housing
- digital and data technologies.
This work helps build a skilled workforce and supports industries that are important to Victoria’s future.
Strengthening the apprenticeship system
Apprenticeships Victoria provides leadership across Victoria’s apprenticeship and traineeship system.
We shape policy, deliver programs and improve how the system works to ensure it is well-coordinated, can respond to change and delivers high-quality outcomes. This helps more people to start apprenticeships and traineeships, stay engaged and complete them successfully and safely across Victoria.
