If you contact the Apprentice Helpdesk, the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) will collect and store case notes which include your personal information (where provided) to be able to provide you with information, advice or support to answer your questions or help you resolve issues or complaints about your apprenticeship or traineeship.

With your consent we may share personal information with:

  • your nominated Apprentice Connect Australia provider to help resolve any issues with your apprenticeship training contract or apprenticeship incentives
  • your nominated registered training organisation to help resolve any issues with your training or connect you to support services
  • other Victorian or Australian government departments or program areas that can help with supporting your apprenticeship or providing related services
  • state or federal government regulators or authorities

If you make a formal complaint about your apprenticeship that requires a referral to another organisation or department, we will seek your consent before we share your personal information. If you do not consent to your information being shared, we may be limited in the support we can provide to you and will not be able to escalate your complaint to the external organisation or government department.

Unless required by law, or for the purpose of reducing or preventing harm, we will not share any personal information collected from you by the Helpdesk without your consent.

Any personal information collected, held, managed, used, disclosed or transferred will be held in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014. If you have any questions about how your personal information will be handled or would like to gain access to your information, you can contact the Helpdesk on 1300 311 820 or apprenticehelpdesk@djsir.vic.gov.au.
